I Love, Love, Love, Oil Pastels.

I love oil pastels.  They are messy, oily, juicy, crayons that are a really great medium to work with.  It's dirty and you have to use elbow grease with layer upon layer to make them look awesome but the more you work at it the richer it looks.

Tuesdays in November, this class is an opportunity to try out pastels and create small but rich painterly compositions.  Student grade pastels are provided but you can bring your own pastel sets if interested.  15 Year olds to Adults Welcome

"A Dirty Little Secret About Painting"

You know, art majors in college are not suppose to get B's.  They are suppose to be great at art, all art, especially painting.  My dirty little secret, I got all A's in my art classes except painting class with Olympia Ogilieve.  I deserved and received a "B".  I really despised painting fake flower paintings.  My philosophy now is try and try again.  Keep on doing-so join us for Open Studio Acrylic Painting offers the opportunity to learn about acrylics and various techniques.  Paint what you are most interested in.  You will have hands-on studio time as well as short lectures to help you develop your hidden talents. Student grade acrylics and canvas provided but you can bring your own paints or we can offer recommendations. Sept. 14th, Sept. 21, Sept 28, Oct. 5, Oct. 12, Oct. 19 6:30-8:30

Lapham Buildementary: Outdoor Sculptures by Kids was a 12-week exploration of public art and sculpture in an after-school club. Led by artist and art educator Amy Mietzel (owner of Bare Knuckles Arts), 1st and 2nd Grade Lapham students will consider local examples of public art, work with a few guest artists, and design and build sculptures in small groups.
