Kite Making Workshop with Julio Enrique Flores Sunday May 22nd
In this workshop we will learn about the tradition of kite making from Puerto Rico and then create our own kite from scratch. Julio learned the art of kite making from his grandfather and father. The kites, called "Chiringas" in his family's home town in Puerto Rico, have hexagonal-shaped frames, which participants will assemble. We'll cover the kite frames with collaged paper sails.
$36 per project-family groups can work on one kite together.
Join us from 1-3pm Ages 7 to adult but children under 10 may need some help.
